This is more signage from the grounds of the Hotel Santo Domingo, in Antigua — this time discussing the Convent Crypt.
Cripta Conventual
Al descender, puede observarse el velatorio de un fraile de la orden, dos fosas con restos oseos y el osario. En sus muros laterals estaban escritos varios “graffiti” en carboncillo que decian: “Francisco Juarez, 3 de junio 1792. A 12 de junio de 1812 estuvo aqui Jose Ayala”. Muro oeste: “Fray Ipolito de Aguilera”.
Convent Crypt
Upon descending the pre-burial vigil room for a friar of the order two graves with human remains and the ossuary can be seen. On its side wall were inscribed several graffiti in carbon pencil that said: “Francisco Juarez, June 3, 1792. On June 12th of 1812 Jose Ayala was here. West wall “Friar Ipolito de Aguilera”.
