ADUFA
La adufa es un miembro poco común de la familia de los tambores. Esta hecha en una armazón cuadrada de madera de aproximadamente 12 pulgadas (30 cm.) de fado y cubierto completamente con un parche de piel de venado o cabra. Se toca con la mano como una pandereta. Solo se encuentra en et área Quiche, la adufa se usa en la iglesia y en la casa de la Cofradía, generalmente acompañando al violín en la danza dramatizada de los Chiquimudos.
El nombre adufa se origina de un instrumento turco muy similar llamado duff.
ADUFA
The adufa is a rare member of the drama family. It is made on a square wooden frame, approximately 12 inches per side and is completely covered with a deer or goat skin. It is beaten by hand like a tambourine. Only found in the Quiche area, the adufa is used at the church and in the house of the Cofradia, accompanying a violin for the performances of the dance drama Chiquimudos. The name adufa comes from a Turkish instrument called duff.
